Job Summary
Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) role focusing on regulatory oversight and sign-off of cadastral surveys. Responsibilities include checking and signing cadastral plans, maintaining OLS designation, mentoring staff, providing professional feedback across field, calculation, and drafting production teams, and contributing to workflow process improvements. Requires ongoing professional qualification as an Ontario Land Surveyor and competency in boundary calculations and plan checking, with duties spanning verification, certification of legal survey plans, and knowledge-sharing to strengthen the team and uphold standards across regional offices. Required Qualifications
- Maintain your Ontario Land Surveyor designation in good standing
- Competently and thoroughly perform boundary calculations for the legal aspect of projects
- Competently and thoroughly perform plan checking for legal plans
- Sign and professionally certify legal survey plans digitally across regional office boundaries
- Provide professional feedback and recommendations to field, calculation, and drafting production staff members
- Provide professional feedback and recommendations to colleagues with similar professional qualifications
- Provide professional feedback and recommendations to management regarding workflow processes to correct potential systematic workflow issues
- Other duties as required
- Knowledge of general industries that relate to surveying: building, planning, engineering, underground utilities, etc.
- Knowledge of key markets, local/broad market trends that could translate to new opportunities.
- Prior experience in client management and expanding reach in key market segments.
