Job Summary

The Ontario Division Event Specialist role plans, promotes, and optimizes events to raise public awareness and fundraising for The Salvation Army. The position develops and executes integrated event marketing strategies, analyzes trends, and measures campaign performance to ensure events drive engagement, sponsorships, ticket sales, and donor acquisition within budget. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end event logistics, serving as the event SME, collaborating with divisional leadership, managing vendor relationships and AV resources, and delivering post-event evaluation and continuous improvement. The role requires a diploma in events management (or equivalent experience), 3-5 years of professional event and fundraising experience, strong communication and stakeholder management, data-driven decision-making, leadership of staff and volunteers, meticulous organization, flexibility for after-hours events, and a valid driver’s license with ability to travel across Ontario. It is a hybrid role with three days onsite at Territorial Headquarters in Toronto, offering compensation in the listed range and benefits, and accommodating potential workplace needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a diploma in events management; an alternative level of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in special events, utilizing events for fundraising, and special event marketing
  • Assess event performance using data and metrics to improve outcomes and guide future planning
  • Coordinate all aspects of event planning and logistics to ensure smooth and successful delivery
  • Lead and support teams of staff and volunteers to execute events efficiently and collaboratively
  • Maintain professionalism through strong integrity, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through clear, concise written and verbal interactions
  • Organize multiple priorities with strong attention to detail, time management, and self-direction
  • Deliver exceptional service and creative event solutions that enhance participant experience and engagement
  • Adapt to evolving needs with flexibility, diplomacy, and a commitment to organizational values, including availability for events outside regular hours
  • Successful candidates must have a full drivers license. Travel throughout Ontario as needed
