Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day operation of the Vail Gondola Club during the ski season, overseeing seasonal staff through recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management. Facilitate preseason preparation, establish daily operating procedures, and ensure all club rules, policies, and safety standards are consistently followed. Deliver a warm, professional experience for members and guests by anticipating needs, resolving escalations, and handling complaints with sound judgment. Maintain accurate inventory levels for supplies, food, and equipment while managing cash gratuities and vendor orders. Work closely with the Assistant General Manager to ensure smooth operations and a positive workplace culture.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely
- Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks
- Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors)
- Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a private club, hospitality, ski industry, resort, or other high-touch customer service environment
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Previous food & beverage service experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold staff accountable
- Strong computer and organizational skills, including the ability to manage schedules, inventory, and ordering
