Job Summary
The Onsite Safety Person is responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety compliance on commercial drywall construction sites. Essential duties include conducting routine safety inspections, leading safety orientations, monitoring PPE use, assisting in incident investigations, and maintaining safety records. This role requires strong communication skills, 5 years of construction safety experience, and an OSHA 30-Hour certification. Physical demands include walking and climbing on job sites, with exposure to typical construction hazards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety; experience in drywall or related trades preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain detailed documentation
Desired Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- STSC or CHSST preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, and navigate construction sites in various weather conditions
