Job Summary
Release of Information Specialist I processes medical ROI requests using Verisma Software, organizes records and documents to complete the ROI process, reads and interprets medical records and authorizations, and provides exemplary customer service in person, over the phone, and via email. The role supports HIPAA-related release issue resolution, maintains confidentiality, attends training, and upholds Verisma values while performing related duties as assigned. The position is hourly and located in Rancho Mirage, CA, with in-person work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- RHIT certification preferred
- 2+ years of medical record experience
- 2+ years of clerical/office work experience
- Experience using general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to release of Protected Health Information preferred
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be detail oriented
