Onsite Nursing Lab Simulation Technician - Indianapolis, IN - Part Time

Job Summary

Facilitate high-fidelity simulation scenarios using patient manikins for nursing students by performing technical setup, operation, and maintenance of simulation equipment. Execute pre-simulation activities including scenario programming, prop preparation, and room setup, while conducting pre-briefs and operating instructional media during sessions. Manage post-simulation tasks such as debriefing support, equipment return, and supply inventory using a management application. Serve as a professional role model for students and maintain currency in field methodologies. Work two shifts monthly from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in the WGU Clinical Learning & Simulation Center in Indianapolis, IN. Requires PC/MAC proficiency, Microsoft Office skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work with computers (PC or MAC experience required)
  • Ability to work with Microsoft office programs- Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with a simulation center management application
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (early mornings, late evenings may be required)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working in simulation lab with manikins
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to think logically and follow directions
  • Creativity and flexibility in designing innovative approaches to solving problems
  • Commitment to utilizing simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform nursing education
  • Comfortable with technology, willing to learn
  • A high school diploma or equivalency
  • 3 years of professional work experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be available for 2 shifts per month (Tuesday - Thursday) during hours of operation 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

Desired Qualifications

  • Vocational or technical education in addition to prior work experience
  • Health care and computers/technology experience
  • Experience in simulation-based education
