Job Summary

Teach and mentor students in experiential clinical coursework within remote or onsite environments, providing specialized instruction on challenging clinical topics. Oversee clinical learning by ensuring student success in placement settings, offering proactive support and outreach, and conducting both in-person and remote student evaluations. Submit electronic clinical student evaluation forms after each intensive and collaborate with assigned coaches and preceptors to discuss progress and concerns. Provide final review and approval for clinical time while maintaining a working knowledge of relevant state regulations. Respond with urgency to changing requirements and short deadlines, utilizing technology-based platforms to aid competency development. Work as a professional role model in communication and ethical comportment, adhering to WGU's mission and strategic vision.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Two years minimum Nursing experience
  • Work history demonstrating continuous advancement and success in roles requiring creative problem solving and collaboration
  • Active, unencumbered RN license
  • Active, unencumbered license in designated state
  • State and federal legislative requirements and college accreditation requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work well under stress and meet deadlines
