Job Summary
Facilitate student learning and performance assessment in on-site Clinical Learning Labs through demonstration, practice, and assistance with high-fidelity simulation scenarios. Serve as a professional role model for students in dress, communication, and patient advocacy while guiding them through the nursing process, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Maintain communication with Supervisor, Lab Faculty to make appropriate student referrals for remediation and moderate student and program costs. Provide orientation and substantial first cohort support to new Learning Lab Instructors and Simulation Technicians during onboarding. This part-time, intermittent role requires an MSN, active RN license, and availability for two shifts per month (Tuesday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm) at the WGU Clinical Learning & Simulation Center in Indianapolis, IN.
Required Qualifications
- MSN
- 2+ years of professional work experience
- demonstrated subject matter expert with assigned content or practice area(s)
- active and unencumbered RN License in the State of the lab location
- Must have availability to work two (2) shifts per month (Tuesday - Friday) during the hours of operation (Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm) as needed
- This is an on-site only role
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- Strong experience with distance education and distance learning students
- Experience in simulation-based education
- Experience with integrated technology systems and tools
