Job Summary
Onsite End User Compute Engineer needed to support a multi-site user and device migration across three client locations in the Chesapeake, VA area. Serve as the primary onsite point of contact, coordinate timing/sequencing with the remote migration architect, and ensure devices move through the migration process. Verify Quest Desktop Update Agent is installed and progressing, confirm devices are joined to the target Active Directory and Microsoft 365 tenant, and document/escalate issues with daily progress reports. Requires 4+ years in AD and Windows workstation environments, comfort with Microsoft 365 services at a user-support level, and strong interpersonal/communication skills for client-facing work onsite. Role is local to Chesapeake, VA with no relocation support; ability to work independently onsite within a fast-paced, high-visibility environment is essential. Preferred familiarity with Quest ODM/DUA and prior client-facing field deployments; experience across varied sites (warehouse, distribution, office) and exposure to Okta or PKI scenarios are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in an Active Directory and Windows workstation environment
- Comfort navigating Microsoft 365 services at a user support level — Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune-managed devices
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting user login, profile, and access issues
- Must be local to the Chesapeake, Virginia area and able to commute to client sites for the duration of the engagement
