Job Summary
Visiting Professor of Data Analytics at DeVry University — lead undergraduate and graduate courses in data analytics/data science, develop and revise syllabi and course materials, deliver blended face-to-face and online instruction, set clear course objectives, and provide timely feedback. Emphasizes the use of AI responsibly in learning, assesses student work with fair grading practices, and participates in a comprehensive faculty development program. Roles are part-time, with pay per 8-week session and possibilities for remote teaching across locations; requires doctoral-level education and substantial industry experience in data analytics-related fields.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate required in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field; at least 18 graduate credit hours in data analytics/statistics/data science/quantitative analysis or related computational discipline
- Unofficial graduate-level transcripts to be uploaded with application
- Degrees accredited by recognized agencies or equivalent accreditation for international institutions
- Three to five years of applied professional experience in data analytics, data science, BI, or statistical analysis
- Experience with data analysis tools, programming environments, statistical software, data visualization platforms, databases, and programming languages used for analytics
- Industry-recognized certifications or credentials relevant to data analytics or BI
- Strong subject matter expertise in data analytics concepts and methodologies with effective communication for diverse learners
- Knowledge of ethical and responsible data practices including governance, privacy, bias, and responsible data use
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices
- State licensing or accreditation standards may apply
- Preferred qualifications include certifications, experience with analytics ecosystems, data governance, accreditation processes, and active professional engagement
