Job Summary
Online self-contained special education teacher delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a fully remote virtual classroom. Responsibilities include live instruction during regular school hours, differentiating lessons for 1-on-1, small-group, and whole-class settings, building strong relationships with students and families, monitoring progress with timely feedback and grades, and using Canvas, Zoom, and other digital resources. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance curriculum delivery, maintain accurate attendance and performance records, participate in professional development, and host virtual clubs (with occasional in-person field trips when geographically feasible). Must be a certified online self-contained special education teacher with the ability to engage students remotely and support diverse learning needs.
Required Qualifications
- Certified online self-contained special education teacher
- Proficient with Canvas and Zoom
- Experience delivering online instruction to K-12 students
- Ability to differentiate instruction for 1-on-1, small-group, and whole-class formats
- Strong communication with parents/guardians
- Ability to monitor and assess student progress and provide timely feedback
- Collaborative with fellow teachers and school staff
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and platforms
