Job Summary
Conduct synchronous and asynchronous science instruction via a Learning Management System, delivering state-aligned curriculum that fulfills TEKS mastery requirements. Develop and implement lesson plans with accommodation for individual student differences, utilizing Canvas to present engaging content while maintaining a professional, distraction-free workspace. Manage virtual classroom dynamics, administer discipline per board policies, and establish netiquette rules to ensure a conducive learning environment. Maintain constant communication with students and families, track progress through ongoing assessments, and collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed. Dedicate evenings and weekends to student inquiries and live sessions, while compiling all required reports and records in accordance with state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
- Knowledge of assigned curriculum
- Knowledge of instructional methods
- Lesson planning and presentation skills
- Ability to reslove technical issues that may arise
- Online classroom management skills
- Group interaction skills
- Demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated
- Maintain flexibility with students in the online setting
- Use Canvas to teach online
- Possess technology skills in using word processng, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet browser, video capture, and other software as it pertains to the online classroom
- University/college required student teaching or approved internship
- Must be able to dedicate after school hours, including weekends, to the online class
- Regular Attendance is an essential function
