Job Summary
Support students in an online learning environment as the primary point of contact, managing DLCgo accounts, course selections, and accurate student record documentation. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to orient new students, proctor exams, and ensure access to necessary resources like textbooks and technology. Monitor student pace and progress through Moodle logs and calendars, while coordinating work-based placements and maintaining detailed progress reports. Provide daily encouragement, check-in support, and facilitate parent-student-teacher conferences. Work independently in a fast-paced setting, utilizing advanced computer skills to organize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Work independently in an online delivery model.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to establish rapport with students.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the successful completion of an Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma in combination with work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Advanced computer skills and experience using a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and proficiently complete multiple tasks while dealing with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
- An energetic team player whom tactfully and respectfully supports students and colleagues to promote a positive work environment.
- Travel as required.
- The successful candidate will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check (vulnerable sector) as a condition of employment.
