Job Summary
Support students in an online learning environment as the primary point of contact, managing account creation, course approvals, and attendance. Maintain accurate documentation for student records, progress reports, and marked assignments while proctoring exams. Ensure learners have necessary resources like textbooks and technology, then orient new students to classroom procedures and expectations. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to monitor student pace and success through Moodle logs and grade checks. Coordinate work-based placements by supervising students at locations and maintaining progress reports. Encourage student communication, provide empathetic support, and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Work independently in an online delivery model.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to establish rapport with students.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the successful completion of an Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma in combination with work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Advanced computer skills and experience using a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and proficiently complete multiple tasks while dealing with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
- An energetic team player whom tactfully and respectfully supports students and colleagues to promote a positive work environment.
- Travel as required.
- The successful candidate will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal record check (vulnerable sector) as a condition of employment.
