Job Summary
Online Data Engineer Manager at The Home Depot leads a Data Engineering team focused on building and maintaining data pipelines, APIs, and analytics infrastructure to support enterprise data needs. This role reports to a Senior Manager or above and involves overseeing 3-4 direct reports and managing project programs to ensure consistent execution and high-quality solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- Experience managing and growing team members in a professional setting
- Experience guiding junior team members through data modeling, mining, and data analysis (or equivalent)
- Minimum education: bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum 6 years of work experience in data or analytics roles
- Proficiency in SQL and relational/columnar databases
- Experience building ETL/data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python (or modern scripting)
- Experience with data integration from multiple sources (e.g., BigQuery, Python)
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Travel willingness (5-20% overnight)
- Experience leading data engineering projects and teams
- Knowledge of data architecture and analytics platforms
- Experience with data validation and maintaining data integrity
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
