Job Summary
Design and optimize well plans to deliver safe, reliable wells while maximizing efficiency and minimizing environmental impact. Collaborate with subsurface engineers, geoscientists, and operations teams to turn data into actionable delivery strategies for exploration, development, intervention, and safe abandonment. Gain hands-on training in well design, operations, and cutting-edge technology through a three-year structured development program including a 12–18-month offshore rig rotation. Troubleshoot real-time challenges during well construction and implement smart solutions to enhance productivity and control reservoirs.
Required Qualifications
- Working toward Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions (bp will not support U.S. Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long-term employment)
- Must be in final year, graduating from December 2026 through May 2027 or graduated in the last 3 years
- Must be available to start on agreed upon global programme start dates (January 19, 2027 or June 21, 2027)
- Must be able to complete specific training to travel offshore and meet offshore safety and emergency response requirements (such as HUET)
- Must have a valid TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Credential)
- Must be able to travel offshore
- Must be able to relocate within country
- Must be able to work in a hybrid of office/remote setting

- Knowledge of Rig and vessel intake and start-up
- Knowledge of Rig and vessel operations
- Knowledge of Rig workovers
