Job Summary
Support the teacher in planning classroom curriculum and implementing individualized lesson plans that address physical, emotional, and educational needs. Assist with student assessments, develop activities targeting specific IEP goals, and maintain order to foster a safe learning environment. Track student behavior, gather data, and create illustrations to monitor proficiency levels for program modifications. Manage individual student behaviors and report safety hazards or property damage immediately.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of Three (3) years of direct support experience, preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
