Job Summary
Plan classroom curriculum and implement individualized lesson plans to meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of assigned students. Assist with student assessments, develop activities addressing specific IEP goals, and maintain order to foster a safe learning environment. Track student behavior, gather data, create graphic illustrations, and monitor proficiency levels to support program modifications. Manage individual student behaviors and report safety hazards or property damage to the Teacher. Utilize classroom equipment and recommend new supplies. Provide ongoing support to the Teacher in delivering instruction and ensuring maximum academic and social learning.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- minimum of three (3) years of direct support experience
Desired Qualifications
- preferably within an educational or classroom-based setting
- A Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
