Oncology Unit Charge Nurse / RN

Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations of a clinical shift while supervising staff and facilitating communication with physicians and administrators. Mentor registered nurses on charge functions, lead team behavior, and guide less experienced staff on policies, scheduling, and assignments. Evaluate resource use, coordinate unit staffing, and initiate tests of change for identified managerial problems. Complete performance reviews, regulatory agency reviews, and unit management reports within specified time frames. Act as an arbitrator for staff conflicts, counsel employees on performance issues, and address escalated patient concerns. Challenge systems to improve outcomes, implement innovative approaches, and develop leadership-focused educational programs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 1 year of recent post-graduation nursing experience
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire (if completing virtual care activities)
- MSN or DNP
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification (may be required for certain departments, post hire)
