Job Summary
Assess clients' medical, psychological, and social situations through interviews and on-site visits to establish goals and required services. Provide psychosocial support to individuals, families, and groups coping with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses by advising caregivers, delivering patient education, and arranging referrals to community resources. Collaborate with professionals to evaluate patient conditions, monitor progress against treatment plans, and document case information while maintaining confidentiality. Work largely in a clinical office environment with occasional visits to hospitals and clinics, supporting the institute's Phase I-IV clinical trial research and compassionate care mission.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- current license for the state of Alabama
- Ability to work in high-stress environment
- Ability to understand confidentiality laws and abide by them
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities
- Ability to work independently
- Must be organized
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years social work experience preferred
