Job Summary
Schedule appointments for Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care by coordinating tests, procedures, labs, and authorizations to ensure timely, accurate patient care. Maintain and optimize scheduling through EMR, coordinate with physicians, nursing staff and other departments to prioritize complex oncology appointments, provide patient cost estimates and referrals to Financial Navigator, deliver clear appointment information and instructions, and address questions while maintaining a compassionate, solution-oriented patient experience. Contribute to process improvements and patient satisfaction initiatives, stay informed on insurance coverage, and support cross-coverage for other scheduling duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification (Enrolled in or prepared for Resuscitation Quality Improvement Basic Life Support) within 3 months of hire
- Six to twelve-month minimum experience in patient registration and/or scheduling
- High level of experience in registration, billing, insurance, financial counseling, customer service and complaint resolution
- Experience coordinating appointments across multiple service lines and with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
- Proficiency with EMR scheduling systems and ability to communicate with patients and providers effectively
