Job Summary
Guide patients and families through the cancer care continuum from diagnosis to survivorship by coordinating plans of care, scheduling appointments, and facilitating referrals to community resources. Act as a liaison and advocate to resolve financial, psychosocial, and administrative barriers while providing clinical education on treatment options, side effects, and clinical trials. Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including tumor boards, and manage complex caseloads to ensure timely follow-up and adherence to treatment. Document patient data, contribute to quality improvement efforts, and independently promote healthcare programs through community outreach and support group facilitation. This role requires a BSN and 3–5 years of progressive clinical nursing experience, with oncology certification within two years.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years' progressive clinical nursing with primary care management of patient population
- BSN required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Certification in oncology within 2 years of employment
- Strong oncology knowledge
- Basic knowledge of managed care
- Working knowledge of insurance coverage and procedures
- Working knowledge of community resources
- Understanding of health care facilities and processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Full-time day shift from Monday – Friday
- Exempt role
Desired Qualifications
- Previous oncology experience strongly preferred
