Job Summary
Provide individualized assistance to patients and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers while promoting informed decision making and timely access to quality patient care. Utilize the nursing process to serve as a vital link in communication between multidisciplinary providers during initial treatment planning. Work autonomously to rapidly prioritize tasks and establish collaborative relationships internally and externally. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with three years of clinical experience, oncology nursing experience preferred, and current South Carolina RN licensure. Scheduled for 40 weekly hours during day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of three years related clinical nursing experience
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- Oncology nursing experience
- Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in lieu of BSN
- Considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes
