Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Patient Services Manager, provides professional Registered Nurse services to patients receiving medical assessment, treatment, or follow-up at CancerCare Manitoba, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed treatments, and a leadership role within the healthcare team. Responsibilities include assessing patients and families' physical, psychosocial and spiritual responses to disease/treatment, delivering nursing interventions to manage disease- and treatment-related symptoms, providing psychosocial support and education to encourage active participation in decision-making and self-care, and working in a multidisciplinary team across CCMB sites in Winnipeg to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring. The role emphasizes coordination of patient care, clinical leadership, and adherence to CRNM standards; preferred qualifications include Bachelor of Nursing, oncology familiarity, chemotherapy administration experience, electronic charting, and French language ability.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration, in good standing, with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Knowledge of Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurse, RHPA Scope of practice
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Satisfactory employment record
- Must be able to work in Canada legally
