Oncology Nurse II

Registered Nurse II in the Outpatient Clinic Services Program providing professional nursing care to patients receiving medical assessment, treatment, or follow-up. Responsibilities include assessments of patients and families, administering prescribed treatments and chemotherapy, providing psychosocial support and education to encourage active participation in decision-making and self-care, and leading coordination within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team across CancerCare Manitoba sites in Winnipeg. Works a variable schedule with emphasis on oncology care, patient safety and adherence to nursing standards (CRNM) with emphasis on independent nursing services, and activities such as IV insertion and administration of treatments; requires collaboration for patient care and continuous professional development.
