Job Summary
Oncology Hospitalist role focused on inpatient hematology/oncology care at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The position involves acute management of oncology inpatients and inpatient consultations, collaboration with the patient’s primary oncologist for chemotherapy, and coordination with ambulatory medical oncologists within the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute. The role supports an integrated program with tumor boards, multidisciplinary teams, and access to clinical trials, with telemedicine opportunities and regional coverage across Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and Ontario. Requires MD/DO, internal medicine residency, and Board certification (or eligibility within 3 years), with preferred but not required fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology and onco-hospitalist fellowship training; Idaho licensure and DEA registration are required.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency program
- Board certified or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment through ABIM or ABPS
- Successful completion of a Medical Oncology/Hematology fellowship preferred, but not required
- Board certified in Medical Oncology/Hematology preferred
- Fellowship trained in onco-hospitalist preferred
- Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC
- Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
