Job Summary
Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for malignant hematology customers across AZ, UT, NV, and NM. Deliver approved medical content, provide scientifically supported information to HCPs, and manage inbound queries through established triage. Identify clinical trial sites, support Investigator Sponsored Research, and lead asset management while representing Pfizer at professional associations. Cultivate expertise in study design and methodology, mentor study leads and advisory boards, and collaborate with Global Medical Affairs on content strategy. Maintain close communication with Patient Advocacy Groups and cross-functional committees. This Director role requires an MD or DO with 4+ years in malignant hematology, currently residing in the specified states. The position involves 60-80% travel, including frequent flights and weekend availability for congresses, and operates within a matrixed team environment.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO Degree
- 4+ years of relevant experience in malignant hematology
- Subject matter expertise in malignant hematology recognized across internal and external stakeholders
- Currently reside in the state of AZ, UT, NV, NM, preferably in Houston
- Ability to operate a Pfizer company car and regularly fly on airplanes
- Flexibility to travel 60-80% of time
- Ability to work on weekends
- Permanent work authorization in the United States
- Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Desired Qualifications
- Deep expertise and/or clinical experience in malignant hematology
- Established network of HCPs in the territory (AZ, UT, NV, NM)
- Familiarity with internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations regarding Pfizer/customer interactions and relationships
- Previous Field Medical experience
- Change agility; be flexible to new opportunities (e.g. new therapeutic areas, territory, projects) and adaptable to organizational change
- Rapidly adopt and utilize new digital technology and other resources with medical customers and record medical interactions
- Demonstrate clinical and technical skills
