Job Summary
Abstract eligible cases accurately and timely while complying with ASCR, CoC, and NCDB data requests. Monitor cancer registry data quality and assist the Cancer Committee Coordinator and department staff members. Maintain confidentiality and use computer, word processing, spreadsheet software, fax, and copy machine to complete prioritized tasks and meet deadlines. CTR Certification or eligibility is required within two years of employment. This role supports the broader cancer registry operations within the department.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) Certification or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) Certification eligible
- CTR Certification within 2 years of employment
- Ability to complete projects and perform structured tasks related to project prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to carry out written/oral directives
- Ability to act or judge on one's own and with discretion
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to use computer
- Ability to use word processing software
- Ability to use spreadsheet software
- Ability to use FAX
- Ability to use copy machine
