Job Summary
Remote Registry Associate role focused on oncology data management and quality assurance. You will collaborate with QA teams to maintain high abstracting accuracy (target 95%) and productivity (1.55 hours per case), complete weekly productivity reporting, and submit data to state and national cancer registries as required. The role requires ODS-C certification and active membership in cancer registrar associations, experience with cancer registry software (STORES, AJCC), familiarity with HIPAA and related compliance requirements, and proficiency in MS Office. The position is remote within the United States (onsite travel may be required) and involves mentoring/training activities for colleagues new to oncology data abstraction and ongoing quality reviews; participation in client meetings, education topics, and trends in oncology is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Tumor Registrar (ODS-C) and active membership in the national and/or local cancer registrar association
- 2 years of abstracting experience or attainment of ODS-C or ODS-Cs with 2+ years of abstracting experience with a non-passing score on the Abstractor PET Exam
- Experience with STORES and AJCC Staging is required
- Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- College degree or degree in allied health field preferred; course in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology required
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings including with colleagues, medical staff and other departments within the facility
- Traveling Registry Associates must be able to travel without restrictions
