Job Summary
Oncologist to provide onsite services at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Responsibilities include interpreting mutational and molecular genetic testing to guide chemotherapeutic agent prescribing, leading life-sustaining therapy conferences with patients and families, assessing and managing emergent conditions affecting the blood, spleen, lymph glands, and immunologic system, administering chemotherapeutic agents and biological modifiers, performing apheresis, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies, diagnostic lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and managing indwelling venous access catheters.
Required Qualifications
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year of completion
- Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any US state, territory, district, or commonwealth
- NPI report printout
- Active DEA license
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, reach, and perform tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, 20 lbs with different constraints, 40 lbs push/pull
