Job Summary
Onboard Services Attendant for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (seasonal, non-exempt). Responsible for engaging standard class passengers, greeting riders, and promoting concession items while handling POS transactions and alcohol service in compliance with policy and state regulations. The role supports the Conductor and Brakeman as needed, assists with boarding/de-boarding, provides safety and historical information about the train, and delivers concession items to passengers. Requires ability to interact with guests, lift up to 50 pounds, flexible scheduling including holidays, weekends, and nights, and comfort with public speaking to large groups. Must be 21+ for alcohol service and maintain a professional appearance; training in safety and company procedures is required. Knowledge of railroad history and previous customer-service experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to interact effectively with coworkers and customers
- Must be 21 years of age or older for alcohol service
- Familiar with the history of D&SNGRR and regional railroading history, preferred
- Preferred experience with customer service, guest service, or retail/sales
- Must have good equilibrium, not affected by motion, and able to travel by train
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with large groups of people
