Job Summary
On-Site Medical Scribe at an orthopedics site in San Antonio, TX. Responsible for medical record documentation and clerical support to enhance provider effectiveness, efficiency, and patient flow. Duties include entering patient room data with the physician, transcribing and updating EMR components (subjective and objective information, physical exam, and pertinent clinical data), preparing and sending documentation for physician review, and ensuring accurate patient records. Must understand HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and ProScribe policies. Requires 8:00 AM–5:00 PM shift coverage on Monday–Wednesday, with part-time (16–24 hours/week) or full-time (32+ hours/week) options; strong typing (45+ WPM) and English proficiency; background check and drug screen completion; vaccinations as required by site. Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and to work in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment. The role may involve multiple locations or sites per scheduling needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
- Ability to obtain proof of vaccinations as required by specific site
- Typing speed 45+ WPM
- Fluently read, write, and understand English
- Part-time or Full-time availability
- Ability to work 8 to 12 hour shifts
- In-person work at assigned facility
- HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance
- EMR documentation experience
