Job Summary
The On-Site Medical Scribe supports Family Medicine by performing medical record documentation and clerical duties to enhance provider effectiveness, efficiency, and patient flow. Responsibilities include preparing and assembling medical records, entering patient encounters with physicians, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of records, updating patient history, processing documentation for physician review, monitoring lab results, scheduling and greeting patients, handling insurance forms, and serving as a liaison between patients and physicians. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, background check and drug screen, ability to obtain site vaccinations, 45+ WPM typing, fluent English, and HIPAA awareness. Shift options include Part Time (Mon-Fri 7:30 AM–4:30 PM CST, 16–24 hours/week) and Full Time (Mon-Fri 7:30 AM–4:30 PM CST, 32+ hours/week). Essential duties cover clinical and clerical tasks such as CPOE data entry, patient preparation, vital signs, specimen collection prep, and coordination of admissions and laboratory/radiology services.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
- Ability to obtain vaccinations as required by site
- Typing speed 45+ WPM
- Ability to fluently read, write, and understand English
- HIPAA familiarity
- Ability to work part-time or full-time shifts (Mon-Fri)
- Willingness to work 16-24 hours per week for part-time and 32+ hours per week for full-time
- In-person patient interaction and clerical support
