Job Summary
Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation during meetings, appointments, or other interactions to facilitate effective communication between individuals speaking different languages. Accurately render spoken messages while preserving the original meaning, tone, and intent, simplifying complex information when needed. Maintain strict confidentiality, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and remain impartial throughout all engagements. This role requires professional fluency in English and at least one additional language, including Arabic, Cantonese, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, or Hindi, with a minimum of one to two years of experience. Independent contractors must manage their own schedules and possess reliable transportation for travel to multiple locations.
Required Qualifications
- Professional fluency (spoken and written) in English and at least one additional language
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional interpreting experience
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated adherence to interpreter ethics: confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and adapt to different environments
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to multiple locations if required
