Job Summary
Repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied machines in the field; troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures of machine and engine systems; prepare equipment for delivery; travel to remote locations and work overtime as needed; communicate with clients and management regarding equipment conditions and recommendations; maintain required tools; adhere to safety policies; possess knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrains, engines, and Tier IV emissions; obtain CDL if required; complete DO'T/medical endorsements as dictated by vehicle size; MSHA certification may be required where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- At least six months of related experience in a similar role and environment
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English
- Keep safety as a priority in the work environment
- Ability to successfully complete a skills assessment (eTRAIN test)
- Valid driver’s license
- Own and maintain required personal tools
- Strongly preferred: At least two-three years’ heavy equipment technician experience, preferably in Caterpillar/Allied rental equipment setting
- Able to diagnose and repair machinery including hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, Tier IV Emissions systems, and failure analysis procedures
- If offered employment, rate of pay and position grade determined based on applicable differentials and experience
