Job Summary
On Demand Driver for Rock Region METRO operates sedan or WAV to pick up/discharge passengers at designated stops, conducts vehicle inspections, operates wheelchair ramps for WAV, collects fares and transfers, issues transfers, inspects passes, and communicates with Dispatch via radios/MDT. Provides route/schedule information to passengers, maintains logs, and adheres to METRO policies while delivering reliable, on-time public transit service. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid Arkansas Class D license, good driving record, ability to pass background check and drug screen, and ability to work evenings/weekends. Strong emphasis on customer service, safe driving, and accurate reporting; overtime may apply. Local central Arkansas preference noted.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Ages: at least 21
- Must possess valid Class D Driver's License (Arkansas)
- Must have good driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Non-DOT medical examination
- Drug screen
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and communicate effectively
