Job Summary
On-Call Teaching Kitchen Coordinator in Hyde Park, NY supports CIA Consulting and Food Enthusiast operations by assisting with kitchen setup/breakdown, inventory management, cleanliness, and program support for non-degree culinary education. Responsibilities include coordinating with internal teams, supervising Earn & Learn students, maintaining par stock, ordering supplies, organizing storage and equipment, ensuring CIA standards of quality and safety, assisting with menu planning and production of supplemental meals, participating in planning meetings, managing equipment needs, and providing guidance on safe operation of kitchen tools. Requires strong culinary techniques, high energy and service orientation, teamwork, adaptability, and excellent communication; ability to work nights/weekends and lift up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience in the wine/beverage, foodservice, event management, or hospitality industry
- ProChef Level 1 certification (preferred)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, food and beverage management, hospitality, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong culinary techniques
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
