Job Summary
The On-Call RN is a part-time role that primarily works from home handling after-hours hospice-related calls, performing nurse triage, assessment, and care coordination via phone or video, with in-person nursing visits when necessary. Responsibilities include timely response to after-hours calls, triaging patient needs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting patients and families with empathy and confidentiality, coordinating services with vendors and interdisciplinary team members, attending patient deaths and performing required procedures, and completing additional duties as assigned. Requirements include RN licensure in Wisconsin, CPR certification, 1 year of recent nursing experience, access to a valid driver’s license with mileage reimbursement, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and e-mail. Hospice certification and/or prior hospice experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
- CPR Certification
- Hospice Certification and/or prior Hospice experience is preferred
- Minimum of one-year recent professional nursing experience
- Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
- Computer skills include Microsoft Word and e-mail
