Job Summary
In this on-call position, the Recovery Care Specialist will lead and supervise clients in program activities during work shifts, assist with client intake and discharges, and monitor medication. Develop healthy relationships with clients, provide spiritual care, and assist in difficult situations. Responsible for ensuring documentation of program rule infractions and maintaining client logs. A valid driver's license is required for transporting clients safely to appointments. Successful candidates must exhibit strong mentoring abilities and uphold the organization's values.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be free of problematic substance use for at least one year.
- Strong ability to relate to and mentor people with life-controlling problems.
- Ability to interpret bible verses and apply biblical knowledge in an appropriate and relevant way to each client’s individual life issues and needs.
- Ability to pray out loud with clients and other staff for client’s needs.
- Knowledge of the Alcoholics Anonymous 12 steps and how they relate to clients in a faith-based recovery setting.
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to confront clients with effectiveness.
- Exhibit strong commitment to the organization and dedication to the spiritual restoration of hurting adults and troubled teens as laid out in the mission statement.
- Able to uphold organizational values and statement of faith.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and ability to be insured under the organization’s vehicle insurance carrier.
- Must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11.
