Job Summary
Administer medical treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians while providing direct care in accordance with established policies and standards of care. Deliver recovery-focused services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness within a multi-disciplinary team approach at the Merrill Center Crisis Stabilization Unit. Maintain current CPR, BLS, and CPI certifications and ensure all regulatory clearances, including tuberculosis testing and background checks, are completed prior to providing client care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) /Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) program
- Current licensure as an LVN or LPT
- Current CPR/BLS certificate
- Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness
- At least 18 years of age
- CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification (hands-on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care
- Current certification for CPR, First Aid, and CPI throughout employment
- Successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination
- Acceptable results of a 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis
- Acceptable criminal background clearances
- Excluded party sanctions clearance
- Degree or license verification
- Valid driver's license
- Motor vehicle clearance
- Proof of auto insurance
- Maintenance of current certification for CPR, First Aid, and CPI throughout employment
- Maintenance of valid driver's license throughout employment
- Maintenance of personal vehicle insurance with the candidate's name listed as a driver throughout employment
- Willingness to use a personal vehicle to attend meetings
