Job Summary
Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at site access points while patrolling assigned areas on foot or in motor vehicles to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security. Monitor the environment for safety infractions or hazards, watch for irregularities such as security breaches, and report emergency situations to contact police, fire, or ambulance personnel as required. Follow post orders for each site, ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, and maintain strict confidentiality of data and information. Utilize two-way radio and computer applications to respond to inquiries and request for information in an appropriate manner. Maintain site logs and write comprehensive reports while offering support to any person in need of assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Availability for variety of shifts including overnight shifts and weekends
- Ability to obtain Alberta Security License
- Valid class 5 license and own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while remaining professional with a tactful and friendly demeanor
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
- Discretion when handling confidential and private information
- Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity
- Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
- First Aid
- CPR Level C
