Job Summary
Conduct archaeological test unit and shovel test excavation, excavate cultural features, and recover and identify artifacts at five Pre-Contact sites. Record data using field forms to document soil color, textures, and artifact counts. Assist with Phase III data recovery projects, with additional work at Phase I and II levels. Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and adhere to health, safety, and conduct policies. This on-call, hourly position offers competitive rates based on North American and regional experience.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in anthropology / archaeology or a closely related field
- Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience
- Self-motivated
- Physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow instructions
- On-call availability
- Hourly position status
Desired Qualifications
- North American CRM experience
- Regional archaeological experience
- Experience with Pre-Contact sites
- Experience with the identification and excavation of Pre-Contact features
