Job Summary
On Call Field Archaeologist role involving field surveys in Reno, NV, with responsibilities to assist in collecting, identifying, and compiling artifacts and archaeological data, generate concise documentation, maintain quality control, assist with site characteristics verification, and adhere to safety and company policies. Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in anthropology/archaeology or a closely related field; Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience
- Self-motivated, physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions, and be able to follow instructions
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
- Basic proficiency with business writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company policies
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
