Job Summary
Provide hands-on care to assigned patients under nurse supervision, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments, obtaining vitals, and performing safety checks on hemodialysis machines. Administer heparin as permitted by state law, document treatment details, and prepare laboratory specimens while maintaining a clean environment. Deliver service to patients and families, travel within and occasionally outside your assigned region with additional pay for out-of-region travel, and work five days a week (Monday through Friday plus two Saturdays) with actual workdays varying based on coverage needs. This role supports Concerto Renal Services' mission to reimage dialysis care through a centralized, continuous model in sub-acute and long-term care facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification or completion upon starting in unit
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Minimum of two (2) years of dialysis technician experience
- Dialysis certification
- Passing Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to move equipment up to 200 lbs (with assistance)
- Availability for on-call schedule: five days a week (Monday - Friday + 2 Saturdays per month)
- Ability to travel within and occasionally outside assigned region
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed nurse
- Knowledge of dialysis therapy
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Ability to initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments per prescribed orders
- Ability to obtain and document pre- and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access assessments
- Ability to report unusual findings to the nurse
- Ability to set up, operate, and perform safety checks on hemodialysis machines
- Ability to administer heparin as permitted by state law
- Ability to accurately document patient treatment details
- Ability to prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed
