Job Summary
Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials for dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort. Perform all aspects of four-handed dentistry and dental assisting within state scope, including taking and developing radiographs, taking impressions, and counseling patients on post-operative care and oral health. Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with OSHA/WISHA regulations, maintaining a clean sterilization area while wearing required PPE such as N95 respirators. Take patient medical histories and monitor vitals. Travel to other Willamette Dental locations as needed based on business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- credentials to function as a Dental Assistant per state requirements
- Graduation from an ADA accredited dental assisting program and/or an EFDA
- Registered Dental Assistant at hire
- Sealant certification
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- Reliable and predictable attendance
- Flexibility to travel to other WD locations within a reasonable range
- Strict adherence to Willamette Dental's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy
- Use of N95 respirators and other PPE as required by regulatory bodies and company policy
- Handle protected information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
Desired Qualifications
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Be able to counsel out patients in post-operative care and general oral health
- Demonstrate an understanding of evidence based dentistry
