Job Summary
Represent American Humane Hollywood’s “No Animals Were Harmed®” program on motion picture, television, commercial and new media locations to assure humane treatment of animal performers; document housing and care, advise on animal safety, and uphold AH guidelines. Interact with animal trainers, production executives, crew, media, and local authorities; educate film personnel on humane matters; produce timely, detailed reports describing animal action, safety precautions, and welfare. Travel to local and national/international production assignments; requires flexibility to work on short notice, long shooting days (10–12 hours), and to complete CASR training during probation. Qualifications include one or more of: DVM; RVT/LVT/CVT; B.S. in Animal Science or related field; strong written/verbal communication; diplomacy; knowledge of animal care and safety in filmed media; experience with diverse animal species; willingness to travel; must be able to operate with minimal supervision on set. Location notes indicate need for on-call assignments across multiple domestic and international sites with potential for international travel; physical demands include outdoor work in varied conditions and driving responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
