Job Summary
On-Call Certified Animal Safety Representative (CASR) representing American Humane Society’s No Animals Were Harmed program on motion picture, television, commercial, and new media locations. Responsible for ensuring humane treatment of animal performers, documenting housing and care, and advising on animal safety issues per AH Guidelines for the Safe Use of Animals in Filmed Media. Engage with animal trainers, production executives, crew, and occasionally media; educate personnel in humane matters; prepare timely, detailed reports to support end-credit certification and welfare assessment. Role involves travel to domestic and international locations, on-set and remote locations, with assignments varying from short-term to extended productions; operates under training requirements and confidentiality as part of the position. Must coordinate with scheduling departments, adapt to diverse environments, and uphold core values of compassion, accountability, respect, loyalty, sustainability, honesty, integrity, and trust.
Required Qualifications
- Must have one or more of the following qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) OR Registered/Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT) OR B.S. in Animal Science or related field from an accredited school, or equivalent combination of experience and education
