On-Call Certified Animal Safety Representative (Domestic, USA)

Responsible for representing American Humane Society’s No Animals Were Harmed program on motion picture, television, commercial and new media locations, to assure humane treatment of animal performers, document housing and care, and advise on animal safety issues. Roles include monitoring animal action in filmed media, educating film personnel on humane matters, and detailed report writing to document safety procedures and compliance. Must coordinate with trainers, production executives, crew members, and potentially media; requires travel to domestic and international locations, as needed. Qualifications include DVM, RVT/LVT/CVT, or a B.S. in Animal Science or related field, with broad animal welfare knowledge and strong communication. Training course completion and ability to work in varied environments and climates are required; positions are on-call and may span short to extended productions with irregular hours.
