Job Summary
Conduct pre-field research, field surveys, monitoring, and site testing using reference materials to determine site locations and mark them on maps and aerial photographs. Ensure work assignments are carried out safely and timely according to established standards while collaborating with construction crews and colleagues. Maintain excellent note-taking skills and utilize ArcGIS, Field Maps, and Survey123 for data management. Stand for ten hours during most eight-hour days and lift up to 40 pounds as required. Availability to travel and work overnight stays may be necessary, with lodging and meal reimbursement provided. This on-call role supports various projects across Southern California for Cogstone Resource Management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field
- Strong analytical and communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members, client representatives, and other staff
- Word and Excel proficiency
- Ability to work in a small team environment
- Must be able to stand for ten hours although most projects work eight-hour days
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Availability to travel may be necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Fieldwork and monitoring experience preferred
- Experience in ArcGIS/Field Maps and Survey123 preferred
- Confidence in working in a construction environment
- Excellent note taking ability
