Job Summary
Conduct daily mentorship and academic enrichment for a class of 20–25 older youth, serving as a positive role model through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude. Deliver homework assistance, physical activity, and curriculum-based lessons while fostering a safe, nurturing environment that supports positive behavior choices and disciplinary measures. Engage students by implementing and co-creating lesson plans to ensure their stability and success. Maintain bi-literacy to support English-learner populations and pass required background checks and testing. This part-time role requires a minimum age of 22, Bachelor's degree or equivalent credits, and six months of group experience, with a pay rate of $24/hour in Culver City, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units OR a Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting
- Minimum age of 22
- At least six months experience working with a group of 10 or more students in a classroom, afterschool, or recreation environment
- Advanced Math and English skills (6 – 12 grade)
- Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
- Provide a clear TB test
- Pass Advanced Math and English skills (K –8) testing
